Born In Torquay
Agatha had fond memories of her childhood in Torquay. Visitors to the family home, Ashfield, in Barton Road, included famous authors Rudyard Kipling and Henry James. The 'Queen of Crime' was upset when her birthplace was one of several houses demolished to make way for a new estate in 1961.
