The John Lee Story
John Lee was the man they couldn’t hang.
One day a lady called Emma Keyse, was found dead, she had been murdered. John Lee was accused of murdering her.
He was taken to court and was found guilty. They made a gallows to hang him but when they tried the trap door, it would not open. So they hired a carpenter to fix it they tried another time but it didn’t open this time. They checked that everything was working. They pulled the lever and it still didn't work so John Lee did not die. The executioners believed that this was God telling them they had the wrong man so they let him go.
