The Man they Couldn't Hang.
JL was to be executed by hanging. His neck had a noose tied around it. Then he was stood over a trapdoor. But when the executioner pulled the lever the trap door remained shut.
After three attempts in all to hang him the judge decided that God didn't want John Lee dead. So he was given twenty one years in prison.
He came out at the age of forty two.
