Bargain Hunters at The Glen
The auctioneers charged 1 shilling (5p) for admission by catalogue in an attempt to discourage curious sensation seekers, but this proved to be no deterrent. Souvenir hunters jostled with dealers to buy items of interest on sale at The Glen. Paintings, furniture, books, china and silver all went under the hammer at knock-down prices.
