Dispute with a Newton Abbot photographer
Lee quickly became an astute businessman. He obtained copyright of his photographs by registering them at Stationer's Hall and authorised Newton Abbot photographer Herbert Norris to sell postcards portraits of himself.
However, when he discovered that Norris was also offering larger cabinet size photos to customers, he instructed his solicitor to put a stop to all sales.
