The Beds
Paris Singer devised an ingenius means of fundraising for the hospital. For a £100 donation a bed would be named after the donor. These included such legendary names as Carnegie, Dodge, Drexel, Marshall Field, Frick, Gould,Guggenheim, Hoover, Huntingdon, Kahn, Estee Lauder, Stotesbury, Vanderbilt and Whitney. Some of these names late became the first members of his legendary Everglades Club in Palm Beach Florida, built in 1918.
