The History of the Berry Head Fortifications Part 8 - PDF
The future of the defences in doubt
The Board now wondered whether it might be more advantageous to sell the land outright, and asked Birch to provide a full report on the Berry Head defences to enable them to come to a decision.
This report, addressed to the Inspector-General of Fortifications, Major-General Sir Alexander Bryce, is a most valuable document, being by far the most extensive account of the fortifications to have been preserved.
