Supermarine Southampton flying boat off Grand Hotel, Torquay, circa 1930
The Supermarine Southampton was in service from 1925 until 1936, so this photo probably dates from around 1930. The local papers (held at Torquay Library) refer to a visit to Torquay and Paignton by Southamptons on 5 September 1927, but it is not certain that this was when the photograph was taken.
