The Launch, Uphams Ship Yard
This must have been in about 1957. We watched the work as the boat took shape thanks to a shipwright neighbour.
I remember that when launched, the ship immediately listed over to about 45 degrees. Then the ballast was rearranged and the ship became more upright.
Everyone in the town was interested in the build. It was a big event locally.
